LIMINAL

between the seen and the unseen

Liminal began with my earliest experiences of owls. I would hear one calling from the woods long before ever seeing her, and learned to recognize her presence without needing to see her at all.

That way of noticing carried into this collection. It appears in darker grounds, pale papers, and vintage textiles where images soften and recede. Many of the works are drawn on delicate linens, softened by time with their original lacework intact. In a sense, they reflect a way of moving through thresholds that is gradual and gentle.
